Hi there, Darlene!
It’s great to come across another out-of-state
Magic Key holder. It is pretty special to see the diverse community of fellow fans of the Disneyland Resort.
I’m sorry you have had this issue. In fact, I’m right there with you. In anticipation of
renewing my Magic Key, I went out and purchased a few
Disney Gift Cards from
Target to get ready to start another 12 months of magic at The Happiest Place on Earth. However, I found the same thing you did: the checkout page for Magic Key renewals is missing a field to enter the Disney Gift Card payment option. While this issue is addressed backstage, there are a couple of options we can follow. The first option is we can use a different payment method. Supported payment types at this time include credit/debit card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card, and “Click to Pay.” The second option is to visit a main entrance ticket booth to complete the renewal in person. While renewing online is strongly encouraged and does help save some time, a nice thing about renewing in person is that transactions over the $1000 limit of a Disney Gift Card can be made with multiple cards.
I hope one of those options happens to work out for you at this time, Darlene. I chose the first option and paid for my renewal with my
Disney Visa Card so I could earn a few more
Disney Rewards Dollars. Although that does leave me with some high-value gift cards still. My friends suggested that I could use the cards to go on a shopping spree. But I’m going to save them to pay for our upcoming stay at
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. (Shh! It’s a secret. So please don’t tell my family. I want to surprise them with a
Disneyland Resort Hotel stay and have us all try out the
new park entrance exclusively for Guests of the Paradise Pier Hotel and
early entry for on-site hotel Guests!)
I hope you have a magical year of visits to the Disneyland Resort, Darlene!
