Hey, Ruth!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Figuring out how to get around
Walt Disney World Resort is what Tiggers like me do best. Transportation time depends on the time of day, mode of transportation and length of the trip. I have two great resources for you.
1. Download the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and use the "
Get Directions" feature. You may enter any two Walt Disney World Resort locations and you will see available complimentary Disney Resort Transportation and travel time. Included will be the frequency of departure for buses, ferry boats and water taxis. Any location means attractions, restaurants, hotels, and theme parks.
2. Visit www.ourlaughingplace.com and use their Transportation Wizard. Again, you may enter any Resort hotel, theme park or entertainment area and find out directions and travel time. I have found this highly accurate.
Option 1 will give you the most specific directions while Option 2 is more general. In any case, Walt Disney World Resort recommends allowing 90 minutes when traveling between destinations. We have never needed that much time but have had an occasion where it took 60 minutes using Resort Transportation.
Disney Dad Tip: If you get in a transportation bind and do not have your own vehicle or want to use Disney's Complimentary Resort Transportation, then Uber/Lyft/taxi are ready to help. We have used Uber many times and the fees have ranged from $6-15 (prices may vary due to the time of day and demand) per trip.
Ruth, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
