Greetings, Robert!
It looks like you are riding your magic carpet to just the right place. And it’s no Cave of Wonders you would choose to come here. That is because …POOF! Your wish is our command here at planDisney. I’m happy to share with you what we have learned using the
Disney Genie+ service at the Disneyland Resort.
My
planDisney pal Carrie and I recently spent a day at the Disneyland Resort trying out the recently-introduced Disney Genie+ service. We had both of our tickets linked to both of our accounts in the
Disneyland mobile app. To book Lightning Lane experiences together, we found an available
attraction on the Disney Genie Service “Tip Board” screen. Attractions with
Lightning Lane have an extra box that displays the next available reservation time for that attraction. Tapping the “Book Experience” link will open a new screen that lets you choose which tickets will be included in the new reservations. There is also a handy “Select All” checkbox you can select to quickly select all of your linked tickets at once. After you have the desired tickets selected, tap the “Confirm Party” button to advance forward to review your selection. Then, tap “Continue” to book your Lightning Lane reservation. You’ll see a confirmation page at that point. After you leave the confirmation page, you can find your Lightning Lane reservations under the “My Day” screen of the Disney Genie Service. Note that the process is similar for booking individual Lightning Lane selections that are not included with Genie+. After confirming your party, you will be prompted for payment options.
So you can see that the screen that prompts you to select the tickets to include with each Lightning Lane reservation will give you the chance to form your custom groups of two or three Guests. So if you are strolling through
Pixar Pier and a few in your party would like to chase after Jack-Jack on the
Incredicoaster attraction but others in your party would rather shrink to the size of toys on
Toy Story Midway Mania!, this flexibility to mix up the magic of Genie+ may be just what you need.
Tony’s Tip: With Disney Genie+, each ticket is eligible to be used to book and use the Lightning Lane of a given attraction up to one time during the day. But that doesn’t mean you can only experience each attraction only once. You can still make use of the standby queue for attractions. My advice is to arrive early in the morning when wait times are usually the shortest. You may wish to experience some of your favorite attractions using the standby queue in the morning and book available Lightning Lane times to repeat them in the afternoon and evening.
You are going to enjoy a “whole new world” of magic with Genie+, Robert. If you have any more questions, just rub that lamp and ask us here at planDisney.
