Cassandra from WA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I'm trying to figure out what's changed since COVID. I found that the Grand Californian special entrance is closed, and that early entry is suspended but unsure what else. Also, where are park hours for August?

Hey howdy hey, Cassandra! You’ve got a friend in me at planDisney!

I can’t wait for your summertime visit to the Happiest Place on Earth… it will be here before you know it! I’m happy to report that many of the things that changed over the past few years have slowly been re-introduced, and we can now enjoy our favorite nighttime spectaculars once again, and even hug our favorite Characters, too!

Also, the exclusive entrance from Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa into Disney California Adventure Park is open once again, and I actually just used it a few nights ago! This is such a wonderful perk for Guests staying at the Grand Californian or dining there. Speaking of dining at the Grand Californian, have you tried GCH Craftsman Bar? It’s one of my favorite spots to dine and enjoy a drink poolside. The Prickly Pear Rose and the Baked Nachos are at the top of my list!

You’re correct that Extra Magic Hour and Magic Morning offerings are currently unavailable. According to the Disneyland Resort website, both offerings have been suspended as the Resort continues managing capacity, but they will share any updates at a later date.

As for park hours for August, the Entertainment Schedule, which includes park hours, is updated about six weeks in advance, so we don’t have this information just yet. Typically, Disneyland Park is usually open until midnight most summer nights, and Disney California Adventure Park is usually open until 10:00 PM. However, these times can vary, so I recommend checking the calendar soon to be sure!

Last but not least, the Resort is managing attendance by requiring all Guests to have a reservation for park entry. So, be sure you have a valid ticket and a theme park reservation for the same day and same park that you want to visit. Keep in mind that theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability. Of course, all of these details are subject to change at any time, so I recommend checking this page right before your visit to make sure you have the latest information!

I hope this helps, Cassandra! You’re going to make so many magical memories this summer!

    See ya’ real soon,
    Kristin
