Hello, Ashley, welcome to planDisney! I see that your trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort is coming up soon, that's so exciting. The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is a great service for guests to utilize that requires either pre-registration 30 days in advance of your park visit, but no less than 2 days before your park visit, or registering in person at
Guest Relations located in one of the theme parks, Disney Springs, or Wide World of Sports. Since you are arriving in a little over a week, we should dive right in!
Before we get to the registration process, there are a couple important things to know about DAS:
- It is intended for guests that would have a difficult time in a traditional queue due a disability.
- DAS allows guests to request a return time for an attraction/experience, it doesn't provide immediate access.
- The guest requesting DAS must be present when registering and present when returning to the attraction/experience at the set time.
- DAS is valid for up to 60 days.
- You can now pre-register via online chat and video call.
With that, let's walk through the registration process. My first recommendation is downloading the
My Disney Experience App, create an account if you haven't already, and ensure you have linked park tickets to each guest in your party. Once you have done that, navigate to the website,
Registering for Disability Access Services (DAS) and scroll about halfway down the page until you see the section, "Ready to Chat with a Cast Member?". Once you read the Terms and Conditions, you can click on the "Request a Live Video Chat" button. A chat box will pop up on your screen with some questions for you to answer before the video chat begins. Please know that the live chat and video chat is available only from 7AM to 10PM Eastern Time.
I hope this points you in the right direction for applying for DAS, please feel free to return to
planDisney if you have any additional questions!
Enjoy your trip,
Brent
