I'm trying to be environmentally and pandemic-ally conscious by bringing our own reusable straws for our trip this year - but should we bring our own cutlery too? (Fork, spoon, knife, chopsticks) Is that advisable and/or can I not bring a knife?

Hello Christie and thanks so much for dropping back to planDisney with another great enquiry for us to help you with!

The Walt Disney Company is sincerely committed to helping the environment on a global scale by taking our planet into consideration within each of its Theme Parks around the world and onboard the Disney Cruise Line.

I thought you may find this past Disney Parks Blog article - Disney Parks Inspire and Protect Nature Around the World a really interesting read as it shares some details of the 2 solar arrays at Walt Disney World Resort that can provide enough clean energy to power up to 2 theme parks.  Now that really is what you call a bright idea!

Christie, more and more Guests are beginning to think like you and are opting to carry reusable straws and cutlery items when visiting Walt Disney World Resort.  In fact, on my last Disney trip, I also carried my own reusable straw too - it really is a great green habit to get into.

When thinking about packing cutlery items to bring to Walt Disney World Resort, Guests should indeed be mindful of the current Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules that state knives are prohibited to ensure everyone's safety.

However, I have some great news to share with you Christie, at this time within Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Guests can purchase (whilst stocks last!) a reusable Spork with Travel Bag at  Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.  These super handy cutlery sets are not only environmentally and pandemic-ally friendly, but also make for a fun (and out of this world!) souvenir!

I hope that I've been able to provide a little additional insight for you today Christie.  If you should have any further questions about your October vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, then please do pop back to planDisney.  I'm always happy to help wherever I can!

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
