Hi Amy, welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park celebrated its
25th anniversary this past Saturday. I first visited this majestic park as a teenager and couldn't get over the coolness of the animal encounters on
Kilimanjaro Safaris and the awe and wonder inspired by the
Tree of Life. Did you know there are over 300 animal carvings in this beloved theme park icon? You get the closest views of this masterpiece in the queue of
It's Tough to be a Bug.
Tusker House Restaurant is one of my family's favorite places to dine at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. We love the Doro Wat Chicken Curry and the opportunity to do the Goofy dance alongside our pal Goofy. I understand you currently have a reservation for a party of 5 and you want to make an additional reservation for a party of 4. As you experienced, the online reservation system does not allow one person to book a dining reservation that conflicts with an existing reservation. The solution is for another person in your party with a My Disney Experience account to book the additional reservation for the table of 4. Let me illustrate how this strategy worked for my family earlier this month.
My family of 4 had a breakfast reservation for
Kona Cafe at 10:00 a.m. Some extended family decided to join us for the meal and our party size grew to 10 a few days before the meal. I replaced my husband's name on our existing dining reservation with the name of one of my extended family members with whom I am connected as
Family & Friends in My Disney Experience. My husband was then able to secure the additional breakfast reservation for a party of 6. Fifteen minutes before our reservation time, I checked in with the hostess to request that our reservations be combined. It took some additional time and our large party ended up being split between a few tables in close proximity, but I was very grateful that our wish was granted.
I hope your Notable Nine enjoy making memories at a shared table, Amy. Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
