Welcome aboard! Your question made me smile because I love strolling down the colorfully carpeted hallways on a Disney Cruise ship, humming along to the themed music. What makes this a must-do on every cruise vacation for me is the creativity displayed on the stateroom doors! Every time I leave and return to my
stateroom, I take an alternative route to see as many as possible. Disney cruisers are so clever and imaginative with their doors, and I am excited that you have plans to join the fun on your
Disney Destiny sailing.
Juan, the magnetic doors measure around 28 inches wide by 77 inches tall. The door plaques on the Destiny are a little tricky to plan for, since they are not round like those on the Classic and Dream-class ships. It is more rectangular, with lots of angles, but you can plan for around 4 inches tall by 9 inches wide. The rectangular room number plaque is about 13 inches from the top of the door and about 10 inches from the sides. The location of the door handle will depend on your stateroom, but it has a circular base with a handle (about 5-6 inches) that points inward, and an RFID reader to tap your
DisneyBand+ located a few inches above the handle. These readers are also rectangular-shaped and about 3-4 inches wide. As you plan for your magical decor, be sure to review the
current stateroom door guidelines.
I am excited for you to experience the Disney Destiny, Juan! Your superhero versus villain journey will begin as soon as you set foot in the Grand Hall and are greeted by the statue of the King of Wakanda, T'Challa. This space is just spectacular, and you'll enjoy seeing the lighting change throughout the cruise under the Vibranium-inspired chandelier. I just know you'll have a MARVELous vacation.
