Hi, im trying to decided which dinner show we should choose, I have a 6 year old daughter. Im trying to decide between hoop dee doo, or mickeys backyard BBQ, which one would a 6 year old prefer.. thanks

Hi Melanie! I love that you basically can't go wrong with either choice but I do have a preference for a younger child.  The Hoop Dee Doo is truly my favorite dinner show at Disney World but the humor can be above the younger kids. The food is basically the same as Mickey's Backyard Barbecue with ribs and chicken as the main staple.  You will be served your meal at Hoop Dee Doo but will use a buffet line at the Barbecue.

The reason I might choose the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue for a six year old is that they can really get a great character experience. The entire show is geared to the children with live country music band and a rope trickster. Some of the children will be asked to participate and the others will end up dancing up a storm with Mickey and some friends. For those that are a bit shy they can simply find a character at each end of the covered pavilion to get a picture with. This is not a true meet and greet and they will not stop for autographs but the pictures you will be able to snap will be priceless.

Again you can't go wrong with either. During the very hot summer months it can be nice to have dinner indoors versus the outdoor non air conditioned pavilion but both are super experiences!
