Hi Melissa,
Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel, and hello to a fellow DVC Member!
You have a fun decision ahead in choosing between
World Showcase: DestiNations Discovered and
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour. What I love about all the Walt Disney World tours is the opportunity to see the theme parks from a unique "behind the scenes" perspective.
We took Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour with our high school senior son, and we loved it. I've also recently enjoyed the super fun
Backstage Magic tour. I love all the architecture in Epcot's World Showcase, and hope to take the World Showcase: DestiNations Discovered tour on a future trip. So while I can't offer a direct comparison between the two tours you're considering, I can share my enthusiastic take on Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour.
As a self-professed Disney geek whose favorite park is Magic Kingdom Park, I thoroughly enjoyed the deep immersion into the history of the park and the core principles — the Four Keys — that help make the magic happen everyday. For me, the tour was so much more than a walking-listening-learning tour. I don't want to spoil any surprises, but I'll say that getting to see backstage views of attractions was really cool. Let me offer one more word to sum up why I loved the tour — “Utilidor.” Walking the work tunnels beneath Magic Kingdom Park and simply seeing everything and everyone in action was, for me, the most exciting and memorable part of the tour.
Melissa, I'm sure you're in for an incredibly fun tour day no matter which tour you choose.
Enjoy your Disney!
Jerry
