I'm trying to decide between the Polynesian and the Art of Animation Family Suite. I'm concerned about the distance from MK at the AOA and the potential lack of ease of getting around with three kids ages 9, 7 and 5? Any advice on choice?

    Hi, Julia!

Oooh, decisions decisions!  The good thing is, either choice will be awesome. Let me give you the advantages of each:

Polynesian is one of my favorite resorts.  The Volcano Pool is a blast with the pool slide and nearby beach.  Captain Cooks is a wonderful quick service location with tables inside and outside, perfect for an early breakfast before a day in the parks.  And never underestimate the power of tiki torches at night!  It is so beautiful, you may never want to leave your resort!  I like staying in Samoa where we are just steps from either of the 2 resort pools and close to the Great Ceremonial House.   With 2 queen beds and a daybed, your entire family will have a cozy place to sleep.

Art of Animation is brand new and while I have not yet stayed there, it has gotten rave reviews from guests.  Your suite will have 2 full bathrooms, 2 televisions, a kitchenette, a queen bed, plus sleeping areas for 4 additional guests.  This will give you plenty of room to spread out.  All the parks are accessible via resort bus, with no bus ride more than 25 minutes.

If I had to decide, I would go for the Polynesian.   I really like the monorail access to the Magic Kingdom, and I enjoy the walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you can hop on a monorail to Epcot.  Other parks can be reached by taking a bus. You have wonderful restaurants in the Polynesian, and can walk to the Grand Floridian for even more great options. With small kids, I think the monorail is a quick and easy way to get to Epcot and Magic Kingdom.

But, like I said earlier, you cannot go wrong with either choice!  If your kids have their hearts set on a Cars suite at Art of Animation, go for it!  You will love the themes, the pools, and huge food court.  Let me know what you decide.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
