Hi there? I’m trying to decide which hotel to stay at with my 2 year old son. He will need some downtime midday for a nap. How long does it typically take to travel to the parks from the Art of Animation hotel? Also, any other tips for toddlers?

    Hi, there!

Michele, I'm excited to hear you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. It's my pleasure to help you plan a magical stay!

There are so many incredible Disney Resort hotels to choose from. Each features unique theming and amenities, making your decision very difficult! Disney's Art of Animation Resort is certainly a great option, especially when traveling with a toddler. The larger-than-life Characters and lush landscaping will transport your little guy into the magic of Disney storytelling. The travel time between Disney's Art of Animation Resort and the theme parks is between 15-22 minutes. We stayed at this Resort hotel just last summer, and my 11-month old had no trouble with the travel time. My kids have also especially enjoyed our stays at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The Resort hotels on the monorail line are fabulous and I love them each, but I prefer the Value and Moderate Resort hotels for my family's Disney vacations because they're super budget-friendly.

When visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with a little one in tow, a midday break is a must-do! My family likes to head to the theme parks first thing in the morning, grab an early lunch, and then head back to our Resort hotel for a swim and a nap. Once everyone is well-rested, we travel back to the theme parks for a few more attractions and the nighttime entertainment. In addition to planning breaks, you'll also need a stroller and a well-stocked bag for a day in the theme parks. I pack my kiddos' favorite snacks, drinks, wipes, hand sanitizer, a change of clothes, and an empty Ziploc bag (always comes in handy!).

Michele, please let me know if you have any other questions!
