I'm trying to decide if the DDP makes sense for us. My boys will be 9 when we go but they often eat full, adult sized meals. Will the kid's portions be big enough? Do they have to get the children's meals?

    Hi Angie,

As stated in the Disney Dining Plan 2016 brochure, Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available so if you do decide to add a Disney Dining Plan, your 9-year old boys will definitely be required to have children's meals.

It's very difficult for me to say if children's meals will offer large enough portions for your boys as obviously every child is different. My son is 13-years old and 9 times out of 10 when we do not have the Disney Dining Plan, he will choose to order from the children's menu which does offer enough food for him.

If your boys normally eat full adult sized meals, then perhaps the Disney Dining Plan would not be suited to your family during this particular visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you did add a Disney Dining Plan and the children's portions weren't big enough for your boys, your only other option would be to order and pay out of pocket for sides to supplement their children's meals or full meals from the adult menu.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
