Hello! Im trying to decide between beach club resort and Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have a 9 year old son that will be happy either way. we have dreamed of staying at the beach club bc of the pool, but I hear alot of good things about Animal kingdom.

    Hi Christina!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt DIsney World Moms Panel.  I have a 12 year old son and a 7 year old son who's about to turn 8 in a month.  My oldest would pick the Beach Club because of the pool Stormalong Bay while my youngest would pick the Animal Kingdom Lodge because it is exotic looking and he loves the animals right outside.  However, that said, my youngest has also spent an entire day in Stormalong Bay and didn't want to get out either!

Since you are on the fence between the two, my recommendation would be to only go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge if you have a car.  That's because Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom Lodge are kind of remote in comparison to the rest of Walt Disney World.  That makes getting around on Disney transportation a little longer than at other resorts.

Also if having a lot of dining options in the evening at or near your hotel is important to you, then go with the Beach Club.  The Beach Club is located on Crescent Lake between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.  You can walk to either park or to the Yacht Club, the Boardwalk, the Swan, and the Dolphin hotels for other dining options.

I hope this helps!  Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
