Hello there, Paulina! I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney! My current excitement level for the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is off the charts, so answering some of my favorite questions is helping me pass the time more quickly!
As if the World of Color shows weren’t already dazzling enough, leave it to Disney to sweeten the experience with the
World of Color Dessert Party! This special event serves up awe with a side of “yum!”. Reservations for these events usually open up 60 days in advance, which means we’re already in the window for your mid-May arrival. I just took a quick peek, and while the dessert party is scheduled during your visit, it looks like all of the reservations have been booked. I’m guessing this event is particularly popular since Guests are excited about the brand new show,
World of Color Happiness!, that will make its debut during the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration.
Now, I realize you might be a bit bummed that you haven’t been able to score a reservation for the dessert party just yet, Paulina. But don’t worry—there’s still plenty of time before your visit! I always say that the best way to find that coveted dining reservation is to look early and look often. Plans change all the time, and some Guests with existing reservations may cancel theirs—which means you may have other opportunities to join the fun. Keep an eye on the
reservations page for any openings that might pop up.
I’d also love to share a few insider tips that can help you make the most of your experience! While I haven’t heard yet if this option will be available for World of Color Happiness!, I was able to secure a great viewing spot for World of Color - ONE using the
virtual queue option in the
Disneyland mobile app last year. I’m crossing my fingers (and toes!) that this will be an option for the new show. It was as easy as opening the app, tapping the menu button, and selecting “Virtual Queues”. Let’s just say that I was so close to the action, I even felt the mist from the towering fountains!
And hey, if you’re not able to snag a dining reservation, who says you can’t make your own dessert party, Paulina?! You’re welcome to bring your own snacks as you enjoy the World of Color show. Some of my favorites are the Baymax Macaron from
Lucky Fortune Cookery, Churro Toffee Square from
Trolley Treats, and—for those chilly nights—a Classic Hot Cocoa from the
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop.
So, Paulina, whether you end up with a dessert party reservation or create your own dazzling treat-filled experience, get ready to be amazed by World of Color Happiness! I'm sending you all the good vibes that you get to experience all that the 70th Celebration has to offer. Have a magical trip, and don’t hesitate to come back and visit us again if you have any more questions as you plan!
