Hi! I'm trying to book a trip to DisneyWorld for my birthday in October and am wondering if there is a way to make payments on tickets without getting a hotel room

    Hi, there!

Paige, I'm so excited to hear you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. I can't think of a better place to celebrate a birthday!

At this time, there is not an option to make payments on Theme Park Ticket purchases. Not to fret! I have a few solutions that may work for you. One is to slowly purchase Disney Gift Cards until you have the amount you need to cover the total cost of the Theme Park Tickets you plan to buy. If you purchase your Disney Gift Cards with a Target RedCard, you can save 5% off the cost of each gift card! It doesn't seem like much, but it certainly adds up with larger purchases. You can also save a significant amount of money by purchasing Disney Gift Cards from warehouse stores like Sam's Club and Costco. Another option is to purchase just one Theme Park Ticket at a time. If you need a total of four tickets for four Guests, for example, you could purchase one a month for four months.

My only concern in you slowly acquiring the Theme Park Tickets that you need is that Guests currently need Theme Park Reservations in addition to valid admission. Walt Disney World Resort's 50th-anniversary event kicks off on October 1, and lots of Guests (myself included!) will be making plans to visit the theme parks to join in on the celebration. I recommend exploring your Disney Resort hotel options. If you purchase your Theme Park Tickets as part of a vacation package with a Disney Resort hotel stay, you'll only need to pay a $200 deposit with the balance due just 30-days ahead of time. As soon as you book your vacation package, you can go ahead and make those all-important Theme Park Reservations! I can tell you that my family stayed at a family member's vacation home in Orlando in an effort to save some money for our last Disney vacation, and we found that the minimal savings were not at all worth it. Not only did we miss the incredible benefits of the Disney Resorts Collection, but expenses also added up that we had not considered, like parking fees at the theme parks. Disney Resort hotels like Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's All-Star Movies Resort are super budget-friendly and come with all the magical benefits you expect from the Disney Resorts Collection.

I hope this was helpful, Paige. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have! We'd love to help you plan a magical birthday celebration at the Walt Disney World Resort.
