I'm trying to book Disneyland for October 17th - my son's 9th birthday. Supposedly it's not blacked out, but I'm unable to reserve it. Is there any way?

    Hi Karyn. Welcome to planDisney!

How exciting that you're planning to celebrate your son's birthday at The Happiest Place on Earth. Based on your question, it sounds like you might have a Magic Key Pass. I looked at the Magic Key Calendar and saw that Inspire, Believe, and Enchant Magic Keys are all eligible to make park reservations on October 17. The only Magic Key that is blocked out on that date is the Imagine Key. Karyn, if you have an Imagine Key, you won't be able to make a park reservation for October 17th. I'm sorry if this is your situation. You could still purchase a single-day theme park ticket if you'd like to head to the parks.

Karyn, if you have one of the Magic Keys that can make a park reservation (subject to availability), it could be that all reservations were already booked when you looked. If this is the case, keep checking back as reservations may open as other Guests' plans change. You may still be able to grab that park reservation!

When you visit the Disneyland Resort, grab a complimentary Birthday or "I'm Celebrating" button from select merchandise locations or at Guest Relations in either theme park. It's a great way to let Cast Members and other Guests know you're celebrating! I also love grabbing a special treat from Candy Palace or Jolly Holiday Bakery for my kids on their special day. It makes the day extra sweet!

Karyn, I am sending pixie dust your way in hopes that you can secure a park reservation and that your son has a most magical birthday! Please let me know if you have any other questions - I'd be happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
