I’m trying to book a dining reservation exactly 60 days in advance. I do not have a Disney hotel reservation. I have checked after midnight and it does not allow me and when I’m able to early in the am, all time slots are unavailable.

Hi There! Thanks for stopping by planDisney! I'm so excited to help you out today!

Ashley, as a big fan of the many fabulous restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, I completely understand wanting to secure those Advanced Dining Reservations as early as possible! Now, all Guests can make dining reservations 60 days in advance, but can only start booking beginning at 6:00 a.m. This may be why you had trouble accessing times when logging in at midnight. Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can book 60 days before their check-in date, PLUS the ten following days to secure reservations for their entire vacation. So, some of the more popular restaurants may already be booked up by the time you log in on the 60-day mark.

While I know it may be a bummer to log in and not see your preferred restaurant available, don't lose faith! Most of my visits to Walt Disney World are booked very last minute, so I hardly ever get to take advantage of the 60-day reservation window. Still, I'm ALWAYS able to snag some absolutely fabulous reservations. So, my best tip would be to keep a super close eye on the My Disney Experience app. Reservation cancellations come through all the time, so if you check in periodically, you'll likely see times for some of your favorite restaurants pop up. This is especially common in the week or two leading up to your visit, as Guests who change their plans must cancel reservations to avoid the late cancellation fee. I usually open the app about 2-3 times a day to check in and see what's available, and this approach works really well for me!

I also recommend checking out the many fabulous restaurants over at Disney Springs. I often find available reservations here, and the food always blows me away! Not shocking, as there are multiple restaurants at Disney Springs run by James Beard Award-winning Chefs! How cool is that? While you're there, you can stop over at The Ganachery for dessert and enjoy some exquisite chocolate creations.

Ashley, I can honestly say that I have never had a meal I didn't love at Walt Disney World, and I say that as one of the pickiest eaters on the planet! So, no matter where you dine, I just know you will have a delicious meal! We have many foodies here at planDisney, so feel free to stop in again with another question, and we would love to share some of our favorites!

    Bon Appétit!
