Welcome to planDisney, Sigal! Thanks so much for reaching out to us. I’m so happy to help you plan your
Mediterranean adventure aboard the
Disney Fantasy!
Wow… what an unforgettable itinerary you have ahead! Whether you’re exploring the ruins of Pompeii, gazing up at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or maybe even making your way to Milan to view Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, your cruise is sure to be filled with once-in-a-lifetime moments.
While it’s never quite as exciting to think about disembarkation day, you’re wise to plan ahead. Since you have the late dining time, you’ll most likely be assigned a later breakfast seating on the final morning (usually around 8:00 to 8:30 AM) in one of the main dining restaurants like Royal Court, Enchanted Garden, or Animator’s Palate.
Breakfast usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour, so you can expect to be finished by 9:00 or 9:30 AM. After that, you’ll return to your stateroom (if you haven’t already grabbed your luggage) and make your way to the disembarkation area. From there, the process of exiting the ship and clearing customs at Civitavecchia typically takes about 30 minutes, and it’s usually a smooth experience for Disney Cruise Line guests. Private transfer services are allowed to pick up right at the pier, so you won’t need to worry about catching a shuttle or navigating through the port.
With all of that in mind, I’d recommend arranging your private transportation for around 10:00 AM. That timing gives you a buffer after breakfast and disembarkation, without keeping you waiting too long at the pier. You’ll likely be on your way to Rome by mid-morning and there by around 11:30 AM, ready to kick off the next part of your adventure!
Wishing you smooth sailing, Sigal. If there’s anything else you need as you get ready for your cruise, we’re always happy to help!
