Hi Steve!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Thank you for asking such a good question - I am sure there are many guests from the UK who will find this useful. Coming from the UK myself, I have been using a multi-currency, pre-paid card for many years now, and have found it invaluable with the fluctuating exchange rates, and when trying to avoid credit card fees/transaction fees when converting our currency into US Dollars. Many of the UK Tour Operators provide multi currency cash passport cards, and if these display the MasterCard logo you should be able to use these across the Walt Disney World Resort for shopping and dining. There are several good multi currency pre-paid cards also available, such as FairFX or Revolut which display your name on the front of the card, which can be used at Walt Disney World.
To link a card to your
My Disney Experience account, I find this easier to do on the website, using my laptop. Sign into your account, and then click on 'Profile' (just under your name, at the top). Then scroll down to 'Payment Method'. You should then be able to add the details of your preferred card. If you are still having difficulty adding a card, it might be useful to call The Walt Disney Travel Company International, on UK freephone number 0800 028 0778, where Technical Support is available daily between noon and 10.00pm. Alternatively, when you check in at your Disney Resort hotel, they will link a valid card to your hotel reservation account.
Walt Disney World will accept the following methods of payment:
Visa
MasterCard
American Express
Discover Card
Diners Club Charge Card
JCB (Japan Credit Bureau)
Disney Gift Card
Disney Rewards Dollars
Disney® Visa® Card
It's worth noting that you may only use a standard debit or credit card to link to your
MagicBand, and if your prepaid travel card displays the MasterCard logo that may be used as well. That has worked for me.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World Resort, and keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on events that may be happening during your stay.
