I’m trying to add genie plus to my tickets but it says my admission type is not eligible

Hello Sarah, and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for bringing your important planning question to us here at planDisney. I am so sorry to hear that you are having trouble upgrading your tickets to include Genie+.

If you are trying to add Genie+ to your tickets using the mobile app, I suggest using My Disney Experience on a computer or laptop. Sometimes Wreck-It Ralph and his friend Vanellope get into the mobile app and cause glitches. To modify your tickets online, sign in to your My Disney Experience account and click on the My Plans tab. Scroll down and click on the Tickets & Memory Maker tab and select Change Ticket next to the ticket you wish to modify. Under “Choose Which Tickets to Change” select all the tickets belonging to members of your party that you want to modify. Add Disney Genie+ service to your tickets. Once you have added the service you will not be able to use it until 7:00 AM on the day of your visit.

If you are still having trouble adding Genie+, there are a few ticket types that Genie+ cannot be added to in advance to include Genie+. Hakuna Matata! You will still be able to add and use Genie+ during your trip, you will just have to add this service on the day you plan to use it. Disney Genie+ can be added to the My Disney Experience mobile app by opening Disney Genie and selecting My Day. Scroll down and tap Get Disney Genie+ service. Follow the prompts to add Genie+ for everyone in your party for that day. You will be able to make your first Lightning Lane selections at 7:00 AM.

Don’t forget to make your Advanced Dining Reservations 60 days before your arrival. You can make your reservations online starting at 6:00 AM or with a Cast Member over the phone beginning at 7:00 AM. There are so many choices of table service dining. I recommend taking advantage of some of the new entrees, drinks, and desserts created especially for the World’s Most Magical Celebration. You will find all these delicious creations in the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Sips and Bites Guide. If you have any more questions before you arrive, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
