Hi Rob and welcome back to planDisney.
It is always a pleasure to be able to help a fellow Guest from the UK with the planning of a visit to my favourite holiday destination -
Walt Disney World!
The Disability Access Service (DAS) supports Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. Having DAS allows Guests to receive a return time for attractions, similar to the current standby wait, making the experience more manageable and enjoyable for them.
You are quite right in saying, Rob, that you do need to have a conversation with a Cast Member via live video chat to discuss/determine eligibility for DAS.
Unfortunately, whilst it is possible to do this 60 days in advance via the US version of the Walt Disney World website (www.disneyworld.disney.go.com), it is not possible to do so from the UK version. International Guests are unable to complete a video chat to register for DAS until they have arrived in the United States.
Once you have arrived in the US and are ready to chat with a Cast Member to determine eligibility for DAS, you can engage in a live video chat using the “Request Live Video Chat” button which you will find at the bottom of the following link:-
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/disability-access-service-register/ If you would prefer, you can also visit
Guest Relations at any of the theme parks where a Cast Member will be happy to help you get connected to a video chat.
Top Tip - There is a really helpful section of the Walt Disney World website outlining
Services for Guests Who Are Neurodivergent which might be worth you having a look at before you arrive.
I hope that this information has been of help, Rob, and that you have a brilliant time at Walt Disney World. Please feel free to re-visit us, here at
planDisney, if we can be of any further assistance.
Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
