Hello Philip,
May I begin by wishing you a very warm welcome to planDisney! As the current
UK Panelist, it's always a delight when I have the pixie-dusted opportunity to offer some assistance to a fellow Guest who also hails from the United Kingdom.
Philip, I'm happy to share that whether you're shopping, dining, or simply stopping for a coffee and a churro whilst visiting
Walt Disney World Resort, you'll be able to make your purchases with a valid American Express credit card, or indeed Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, Diners Club Charge Card, JCB (Japan Credit Bureau), or Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Dollars, or the Disney Visa Card.It might be useful for you to know that in my own experience of purchasing goods when travelling abroad, I've discovered the best exchange rate is always found when paying in local currency, in this case, US Dollars. When allowing the vendor to use a dynamic currency conversion at the point of sale, permits them to charge an additional transaction fee.
My best advice would be for you to speak in person with a representative from American Express to gain their expert travel advice on current policy for foreign currency conversions, and best practices for using credit cards outside of the United Kingdom.
Additionally, when staying in a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Guests are more than welcome to visit the
Lobby Concierge desk where helpful Cast Members are able to assist with foreign currency exchanges.
I hope that I've been able to provide a little insight for you today Philip. If you should have any further questions concerning your upcoming April holiday to the magic and wonder of Walt Disney World Resort, then please don't hesitate to pop back to
me here at planDisney.Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
