Hi Karen!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am always happy to see questions from my fellow UK Guests! I have made enquiries about this, because it's a few years since I used Travellers Cheques at Walt Disney World Resort. I am pleased to say that your Disney Resort hotel will accept your US Dollar Travellers Cheques but they advised that you cash them at your hotel at the
Lobby Concierge or
Front Desk, as there may be some locations that no longer accept them, maybe those smaller locations such as food and drinks carts around the parks, etc. If you prefer not to carry high amounts of cash with you,
your MagicBand may be used for payment at all the theme parks and water parks, and select locations at Disney Springs. This will be charged back to your room account, and you can always settle this every day with cash, once you are back at your hotel if you wish to.
Credit and debit cards are accepted at Walt Disney World Resort, and I always take a pre-paid currency card with me. These cards are really useful as I buy US Dollars and load them on the card when the exchange rate is good, and the card can be used in the same way as any debit card, even when we go shopping/dining outside Walt Disney World Resort. There are several pre-paid cards available - but when you are choosing one, please ensure it displays the MasterCard logo on the front. You can also use these cards to withdraw cash at the
ATM's which are located in many places across the whole Resort.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday!
Sue
