Hi I’m travelling to Disneyland in Orlando in July 2025 with my 8 year old daughter and 14 year old son . Could you recommend or explain the difference between park tickets please

Hi there, Amanda! Welcome to planDisney!

With so much to see and do, especially for your eight and 14-year-olds, it’s important to choose the ticket that best fits your family’s vacation. A quick note before we dive in: Disneyland is in California, while Walt Disney World is in sunny Orlando, FL. But Hakuna Matata, I’m more than happy to help with your question about the different Theme Park tickets for your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth!

For Guests from the UK and Ireland, when purchasing tickets online through the UK version of the Walt Disney World website, you have two options: The 14-Day Magic Ticket and the 7-Day Magic Ticket. Both offer incredible value with unlimited access to all four theme parks and water parks for the duration of your stay. These tickets include the Park Hopper option and Memory Maker and are perfect for making the most of your Disney holiday.

If you prefer to wait until you arrive in the U.S., here are the ticket options available to you:

    • Standard Theme Park Ticket: This ticket gives you access to one theme park per day. You can choose between Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. With all the attractions, shows, and experiences tailored for kids and teens, your days will be packed with excitement.
    • Water Park and Sports Option: If you plan on spending a lot of time at the water parks or trying out some other recreational activities, this option might be perfect. It includes a certain number of visits to Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon and other fun experiences like FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. For example, a 4-day Theme Park Ticket with a Water Park and Sports Option comes with four visits to the Water Parks, Mini-golf, or Footgolf!
    • Park Hopper Option: If your family likes flexibility and wants to explore multiple parks in a single day, this is the way to go. You can start your day at one park and then “hop” to another. This option is fantastic for squeezing in every must-do attraction, whether it’s spending the morning on the savannas of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the evening watching fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
    • Park Hopper Plus Option: This ticket includes everything the Park Hopper offers, plus access to Disney’s water parks, golf courses, and more. If your kids love water fun or want to try their hand at mini-golf, this option adds extra layers of adventure to your trip.

With so much to explore, from thrilling rides and enchanting shows to unique dining experiences, each ticket type offers a way to customize your visit to fit your family's interests. My family always likes to take advantage of the flexibility to start in one park and move to another after taking a mid-day break, so we add the Park Hopper Option to our tickets each visit. No matter which ticket you choose, your family is in for an unforgettable vacation!

If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    See you real soon,
    Brent
