Hi, I’m travelling on Disney Treasure on Nov 29th Western Caribbean sailing and was curious to know if i should expect our itinerary to change as a result of the unfortunate hurricane related damages in Falmouth. When will i find out details on this?

    Hello, Shobana,

Welcome back to planDisney. And thanks for the opportunity to help with planning for your Disney cruise vacation. Here at planDisney, we are regular Guests, just like you. In fact, we are very much like you: my wife and I booked the same 7-Night Very Merrytime Western Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral as you. We can't wait to enjoy our first time aboard the Disney Treasure. We are also looking forward to our first time experiencing Falmouth, Jamaica.

That said, our hearts are broken to learn of the loss and damage that residents of Jamaica experienced as a result of Hurricane Melissa this year. The storm hits even closer to home as one of our own planDisney Panelists happens to be from the area of the island impacted the most. We are praying that her family and friends are able to bounce back and recover from this unimaginable experience. I'm pleased to learn that the Walt Disney Company has committed a generous donation to help provide relief for the people of Jamaica.

Recovery from severe storms can be quite challenging. Predicting timelines of those recoveries can prove difficult as well. The November 15, 2025, Disney Treasure voyage will be the next cruise scheduled to visit Falmouth, Jamaica. As of now, there haven't been any itinerary modification announcements made for that cruise. Sometimes, such announcements may not be possible until very shortly before the cruise embarks.

Some circumstances beyond anyone's control may even mean changes announced during a cruise. My family experienced something like that on our New Year's Eve cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy earlier this year. An unplanned power outage occurred on the island of one of our scheduled ports, resulting in a Port Adventure we had booked being cancelled. I admit we were disappointed to miss out on that particular excursion. Fortunately, we were able to make the best of it by going on a self-guided walking tour of the port city instead. We ended up having a lovely time, visiting a historic fort, an art museum, and even a local restaurant for lunch.

Shobana, I recommend keeping an eye on your email inbox for any itinerary updates that may be sent by Disney Cruise Line. I'm wishing on the evening star that things work out nicely for our cruise. I'm sending out extra wishes on behalf of the dear people of Jamaica that their beautiful island nation can restore their lives and livelihoods to levels even better than before the recent storm. And should our paths cross on the Disney Treasure in a few weeks, I hope you don't mind saying "hello." It would be nice to meet other Guests enjoying the cruise with us.

    Have a wonderful cruise, Shobana!
    ~Tony
