Hello, Sammie. Welcome to
planDisney. I love that you are vacationing with your younger brother at Walt Disney World this year. You both are going to have so much fun.
In the words of Lilo, "Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten" and in this case, I would not wait to purchase your brother's
Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets. In order to visit Walt Disney World right now, you need two things - 1. valid theme park admission 2.
park pass reservations. Once your Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets are purchased and linked to your and your brother's
MyDisneyExperience accounts you can go ahead and make those park pass reservations. Sometimes, during the busy season, park pass reservations can get snatched up and you may not have the availability that you would like. However, by purchasing those tickets now and then making your theme park selections you have wide-open availability.
If you do purchase those Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets now, Sammie, you can always upgrade them to the
Walt Disney World Annual Pass if it gets released for sale before your vacation in May. You can actually upgrade when you are at Walt Disney World at any Guest Relations locations throughout the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks and at Disney Springs. You can also
upgrade those tickets over the phone by calling 407-WDW-PASS. If you upgrade to the annual pass while you are there, you have up until the last day of use for your ticket entitlements. However, if you do it toward the end of your trip, please note that your expiration date of the annual pass will be one year from the first use of those tickets - not the actual day that you upgrade. If it were me, I'd go ahead and do it at the start of the trip to take full advantage of all of those wonderful passholder discounts.
I hope this helps with your decision, Sammie. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have fun!
Jackie H.
