Welcome to planDisney, Julia! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. How exciting that you're heading to Walt Disney World with your 2-year-old grandson! There's something extra magical about experiencing the parks
through the eyes of a little one.
When it comes to rideshare services and carseats, the short answer is yes, there are options available, but there are definitely a few things you'll want to plan for in advance. Most major rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft offer the option to request a car with a car seat, typically listed as "Uber Car Seat" or something similar. But here's the important part: they are very limited, and as a result, wait times can be long. We're talking 30 minutes to even an hour or more in some cases, depending on where you are and what time of day you're traveling.
Because of that, I always recommend having a backup plan. If you're staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel, you're in luck because
Minnie Vans are a fantastic option. They're available to book through the Lyft app, and they come equipped with two clean, properly installed car seats, and your friendly Cast Member driver will make sure everything is set up safely for your little Mouseketeer. Minnie Vans are super convenient, especially for families with young kids.
Even better? If your plans keep you on Disney property, you may not even need a rideshare at all! All
Disney transportation, including buses, monorails, boats, and the Disney Skyliner, does not require a car seat and is designed to safely accommodate little ones riding on laps. They're also super fun ways to travel! What 2-year-old wouldn't love gliding through the air on the
Skyliner or cruising on a ferryboat?
So yes, rideshare with car seats is possible, but be sure to build in lots of extra time or lean into the perks of staying on property. Either way, I hope your trip is full of toddler giggles and magical memories!
