Welcome to planDisney, Shannon. It's great to see you here! We absolutely love to help answer Guests'
Disney vacation planning questions so it's a pleasure to answer yours!
The
Disability Access Service, or DAS for short, is a great way for qualifying Guests who have difficulty waiting in a standard queue line for attractions and experiences. Each Guest that qualifies can
schedule a call with a Cast Member between 2-30 days before their arrival date to select up to 2 attraction return times in advance (subject to availability). Then, when they are in the parks, they can reserve return times using the
My Disney Experience mobile app, 1 at a time, for the rest of the day (subject to availability). It really is wonderful how accommodating the
Walt Disney World Resort is to all Guests!
As you know, at the current time, up to 5 Guests can be linked to a Guest who qualifies for the Disability Access Service. Therefore, your group would need to split up when making reservations, with each group riding with at least 1 Guest who qualifies for the service. If there are rides that you all want to ride together, you would simply need to select similar return times and/or overlapping return times (subject to availability). Once you have overlapping return times, go to the attraction or experience during the time the reservations overlap and you should all be able to ride together. Make sure that everyone in your group is connected and sharing plans through the
My Family & Friends List on their
My Disney Experience accounts. This way, when selecting groups, you can easily find everyone. Just note that each Guest can only be included in one return time at a time.
I see that you are visiting the resort during January, which is one of my favorite times to go. Unfortunately, as a teacher, I can't usually visit during this time but the weather is usually so beautiful. Not only that, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is running from January 12 to February 19, 2024. The park takes on a whole new atmosphere during this festival. There's something for everyone and I hope you get to check it out.
