I'm traveling with my Wife and 2 kids to WDW in December and we managed to get a reservation to Savi's Workshop. I made the reservation under my wife's name and myself. Would it be an issue if our kids helped us build (they're 7 and 4).

    Bright Suns, Jesse!

If you're a Star Wars fan like I am, you're going to absolutely love your upcoming trip to Batuu. I was lucky enough to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during the opening week in August and while I saw and experienced so many new things, the most memorable thing I did was build my own lightsaber at Savi's Workshop. I'm so glad that the "Gatherers" found a place to set up their shop so we can all go test our Force sensitivity, but they need to keep hidden now that Black Spire Outpost is under the control of the First Order. If you can't find Savi's Workshop right away, ask one of the citizens of Batuu where you might be able to find some "scrap metal" and they'll direct you to the secret cave that houses the workshop.

Savi's Workshop is an extremely popular experience and reservations are highly recommended so I'm glad you've got that covered for your upcoming trip this winter. A reservation saves a spot for one builder and one guest so you and your wife and your two Jedi Younglings would need two reservations for all four of you to go in together. If you have two reservations, your kids are certainly welcome to assist in the building of your lightsaber. There are Gatherers there to help guide you while you build and they are more than happy to help young Padawans forge a path toward true Jedi greatness.

May The Spires Keep You, Jesse, and enjoy your trip to Batuu!
