I'm traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with my extended family in June - the 23 of us range in age from 68 down to 2. Any special tips or recommendations for making our trip even more magical when visiting with a group so large?

Hi, Emily! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

With something for everyone from the young to the young at heart, visitors to Walt Disney World Resort are sure to encounter an experience like none other. For a large party, though, keeping the group together can be a stressful experience.

One suggestion I have is to try to plan at least one large-group activity for each day, but don't be afraid to divide into subgroups based on the party members' interests and priorities. Give the younger and older members of the group a chance for a midday break by staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel and using complimentary Resort transportation, too.

If you’ll all be visiting the same Theme Park on a given day, you should definitely try to begin your day with a group photo. Disney’s PhotoPass photographers will be happy to document your family’s visit, but I would recommend planning in advance a general idea of where everyone in the group will stand and how you can arrange yourselves to make taking your photo as quick and easy as possible. You’ll see many large groups wearing matching or color-coordinated shirts, so you should definitely get a group photo if your family chooses to do that, too. You can have up to 25 Guests connected to a Memory Maker purchase, so everyone in your group can download, share and print your family photos as well.

As far as group activities are concerned, if you can’t coordinate FastPass+ experiences for everyone in your family, consider attractions that are good for all ages and can accommodate large groups. These include the Country Bear Jamboree or Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom Park, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot and Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Hopefully these suggestions will help you and your family have some fun as a group during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan!
