I'm traveling to Disney for the first time with my 3 boys (ages 9,8,5), we are staying on the property and have the dining plan. Are there any suggestions for which 2 of 4 parks to visit on the same day, what to bring, best dining experiences, etc.?

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dente!

Wow! You are in for a magical trip to Walt Disney World! Staying at a WDW Resort hotel AND enjoying a Disney Dining Plan while you do so is the best way to experience the magic. Well chosen!

If you need to park hop, I suggest you hop between Magic Kingdom and Epcot or between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. These sets of parks are located closer to each other, so commuting between them is a bit easier than if hopping between others. MK and Epcot are connected by using the monorail system, and Epcot and DHS are located within an easy 10-minute walk or by taking a leisurely boat ride between the two.

You could also enjoy a morning or evening at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, visiting Disney Springs or the park that is closest to your resort for the other portion of your day. Check AK park hours to see what fits your schedule best.

We always bring a refillable, wide-mouthed water bottle per person, filling each at our resort in the morning so that everyone stays hydrated. Bring sunscreen and a hat for each person and be sure that everyone's shoes are comfy, as there is so much to see and do! If you'll be using your smartphone, have an external battery or two, plus a cord and plug in case you need to recharge. Bring zip-shut baggies to keep them dry.

Consider buffet dining and character dining when making plans as your boys can dig in as soon as you are seated. No waiting for your order to arrive! Other fun options include Epcot's Teppan Edo and Coral Reef Restaurant as well as Disney Springs' T-REX or Rainforest Cafe.

Send more questions as you plan, Dente; we love to help!
