I’m traveling to Disney with my 2 1/2 yo daughter and soon to be 1 yo son Thurs. Hubs will be working for all but 1 of our 4 day trip. I’ve set up the app and the FP+ but I’m wondering if y’all have any tips/tricks for this mama going solo with 2 toddlers.

    Hi there, Paige!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan!  Your vacation is just around the corner and I know you must be so very excited – and understandably a little anxious about navigating the theme parks with littles solo!  I was totally there a few years ago when we tagged along with my husband when he had a work conference at Walt Disney World Resort!  So, I get it!  But, guess what?!?!  You will survive AND have the best time doing so!

Hopefully you are traveling with a stroller – or plan on renting one upon arrival at the theme parks – because you will definitely need one in the theme parks!  We always took our own double stroller, but if you are bringing your own, ensure it’s within the new stroller guidelines.  Additionally, bring snacks because hungry toddlers are challenging, and snacks ALWAYS help! I always find that carrying a backpack is better than a diaper bag because it will hold everything you need and will be easy to take with you when you get on an attraction.  While your Texan babies are likely used to the heat, a small, portable fan that you can attach to the stroller is helpful too!  Definitely ensure you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded to your smartphone and take advantage of the Mobile Dining option.  They did not have that when I was visiting solo, but I would have totally used that because lines and hungry kids is not a good combination so being able to just walk up and pick up your food is SO HELPFUL!  Take advantage of the Baby Care Centers in the theme parks to cool off, change diapers and reboot before more fun!

My number one suggestion is to start your days with zero expectations.  Definitely have a plan for the day, but don’t get discouraged if something goes awry and you miss a FastPass+ selection or don’t make it through an entire theme park. Take the time to see the characters because the magic that your littles will experience will create lasting memories for you that you will remember forever!  Go slow and enjoy it all!

Wishing you a magical vacation filled with many memories!
