I’m traveling on a Disney Cruise to the Caribbean soon and I was wondering if I could bring an extra empty suitcase with me on the boat? My family wants to use it for souvenirs and stuff. I can fit it in my checked bag but is that okay?

Ahoy there, Niki, and welcome aboard the decks here at planDisney! I'm so excited that you and your family are planning on embarking on what I like to call the MOST incredible Disney adventure around! Nothing beats being in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by the Magic of Disney everywhere you look - oh and the luxury and level of service is unbeatable, too!

Your question gave me goosebumps, Niki, because that's a piece of planDrew-approved advice if I've ever heard one! Right up there with "bring a collapsible hamper," bringing an extra suitcase is a great way to be sure you don't have to limit your onboard purchases to what you can fit in the space left in your already-packed-to-the-gills bags! The fact that you can fit it in the checked bag is just the chocolatey coating on the Mickey Premium Bar, so to speak! And with all the storage space available in the Staterooms of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, there will be plenty of space to keep all the treasures you find at the shops onboard!

Just last week, we pulled out all of our favorite souvenirs from our Disney Cruise Line vacations after we had to cancel a sailing, so we were so happy we had collected a few things over the years to remember such magical memories by! I'm sure that you and your family will find the perfect mementos on your upcoming sailing!

Thank you so much for your question, Niki! I can't wait for you and your family to fill your hearts and minds with memories...and that extra suitcase with whozits and whatzits galore! If you have any other questions as you finish your planning, please sail my way again here at planDisney and drop me a line!

Here's to making your collection complete!
