Hi Yvonne,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! Great to hEAR you and your party will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resorts later this year, you’ll have a blast!
When it comes to guests with mobile disabilities, guests can access
this portion of the website to view the different services. There are also “Guides for Guests with Disabilities” that are super helpful. Within the guides, there are little icons beside each attraction that explain how guests will need to maneuver through the line to get to the ride vehicle. For example, the guest might need to transfer from their wheelchair at a point in the line to get into the ride vehicle, while on other rides they can stay in the wheelchair. Check out these guides for
Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT. Most restaurants are accessible, whether guests use a ramp or an elevator to access the restaurant. If you have specific questions about how to access a particular one, you can always ask a Cast Member at that location.
For the
wheelchair rentals, you’ll be able to do this at the front of the Theme Park and the rentals are on a first come, first served basis. If you rent the wheelchair at the front of the Theme Park, these must stay in the Theme Park and returned upon exit.
Now, if you’re looking to rent a wheelchair for the duration of your stay and you’re staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can work with ScooterBug. This is the
Disney Feature Provider for mobility rental devices. Once you reserve a wheelchair online (or by calling), upon arrival, the wheelchair will be waiting at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You’ll be able to use this for the duration of your trip and when you go home, the Disney Cast Members will handle the wheelchair return!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you continue looking for your holiday reservations. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
