I’m in town for training with my family and I was wondering if we would need a reservation if we would go after 5pm.

Hello and welcome to planDisney, William! We are thrilled you've taken the time to stop by and ask us a question.

I am excited to hear you will be in town soon for training and are thinking about trying to sneak a visit to Disneyland while you are here. Currently, all Guests are required to have both a theme park ticket and a theme park ticket reservation for entry into the parks. You will still need a theme park ticket reservation whether you arrive at park opening or minutes before park closing. I know that these last few months are favorites for Guests to visit so reservations do fill up. However, Guests are also changing plans so frequently so there is a chance you could find some last-minute ones the day or night before. It's also worth it to look at both the One Park Per Day and Park Hopper options as they have different calendars and reservation availability.

Halloween time is in full swing right now and Haunted Mansion Holiday is always a must-do. Our family loves seeing what Jack Skellington has done and looks forward to seeing the gingerbread house. It's also worth heading to Disney California Adventure Park to see the newly transformed San Fransokyo Square. There are some really great food options and who doesn't want to see Baymax?!

William, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are able to make a visit work for you and your family.
