I must say, I wonder if you’re choosing the light or dark side during your upcoming journey to
a galaxy far, far away. No matter your choice, you are in for a Force-filled time at
Savi's Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. It’s awesome that you want everyone there with you for this special moment!
Your selected reservation time is when the experience is scheduled to begin. It is recommended that you check in at the entrance to Savi’s Workshop 10 minutes before your reservation, but no earlier than 15 minutes prior. Also, please be prepared to present your reservation confirmation, photo ID, and the credit card you used for the booking. The entire experience is about 20 minutes.
Savi’s Workshop allows guests inside with each builder, but it’s limited to two guests per builder. Since you have three guests, one may be able to wait close by outside the workshop, and then everyone can reunite right after for a big reveal! I think it’s pretty cool that there will be one person who has no idea what saber you have created. It allows you to have two magical moments from this experience:
- The reveal within the workshop with two of your guests
- Your own personal reveal when you get to see your third guest's genuine reaction
After the reveal, you should cement the memory in your family’s history with a group photo using
Disney PhotoPass! There are
two locations in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where Disney PhotoPass Photographers are available to capture professional high-quality pictures of you and your fellow galactic travelers: the Millennium Falcon and the Garrison (aka Kylo Ren’s command shuttle). During my family's first visit to Disneyland, my husband built his very own lightsaber, and my favorite part was commemorating that memory using PhotoPass. Since he chose the dark side, we opted for photos at the Garrison with the lightsaber. We also went to the Millennium Falcon for some epic family photos!
If you have concerns about how to pose — no worries! The photographer will help guide you on posing to ensure you have great memories to look back on. To add extra pixie dust, ask your photographer if a Magic Shot is available. Please keep in mind that Disney PhotoPass Photographers’ availability may vary. You can use the Disneyland
mobile app to verify photographer availability for the location of your choice!
Bonus Tip: Cap off this galactic experience by sharing a toast at
Oga’s Cantina while jamming to the sounds of DJ R-3X! There is no pressure to make an additional reservation, as Oga's Cantina has recently transitioned to walk-up availability only with a traditional standby queue. Be sure to try the
Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce. It’s the perfect savory snack to give you an energy boost and can be easily shared with your entire group — it’s my family’s favorite!
