I’m thinking of wearing a flapper style dress to the Edison at Disney Springs, but am feeling a bit self-conscious about it. Is that too much? Or is Disney the land of people who are “too much.” I hope this question makes sense.

Welcome back to planDisney, Laryssa! We always love to see a returning guest planning a Magical vacation.

Laryssa, your question is close to my heart as I often spend weeks (and weeks) leading up to trips thinking about what clothes I'll be bringing for my family or how to coordinate outfits with my friend group. In fact, some of my planDisney besties and I are already talking about what group costumes we'll be wearing to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and it's only June!

Now, Laryssa, a flapper-style dress sounds like the perfect way to theme your outfit to The Edison! While style is a personal choice, I will share that on my trips to the Most Magical Place on Earth I have seen a wide variety of fashion both inside and outside of the parks. There have been trips where my husband and I have dressed up for a special dinner while other guests choose to stay more casual at the same restaurant. You'll often find me in a different pair of Minnie ear headbands every day on vacation while I would never wear those to my day-job. Some guests love to figuratively step into Fantasyland with creative clothing emulating their favorite characters while others choose comfort and function above all else. My best advice is the same that the Genie gave to Aladdin when he buzzingly said, "bee yourself!" and wear what makes you happy.

No matter how you choose to style your evening at The Edison, I hope you have a delectable time and savor every moment of your trip. Please come on back with any additional questions.

My husband and I became Disney Vacation Club Members because we love visiting the Disney Parks and with hectic day-to-day schedules, wanted to prioritize time away for our family. The options at the Walt Disney World Resort make each trip unique and I am excited to help other families build vacations with those unforgettable moments.
