I'm thinking about going to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. I have 2 year old twins. Are there enough attractions for 2 year olds at these parks, or is it best to skip these water parks until they are a little older?

Hi there Kenzie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're so glad you're here with your question!

My entire family just loves to make a splash at the Walt Disney World Water Parks. I have two young children and have taken them to both to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon as babies and toddlers. My youngest just turned 3, and we have a water park day planned next month. She can't wait!

Both parks have a lot to offer the littlest swimmers. Most importantly for families with small children, both have plenty of shaded areas to cool off and stay out of the sun. In addition, before your twins are able to swim as well as Nemo, you will find life jackets available free of charge at both water parks.

Now let's talk attractions. My son's favorite water park has always been Blizzard Beach, which in my opinion has slightly more to offer the younger set. Here you will encounter Tike's Peak, a polar-themed wonderland with pint-sized slides and aquatic fun. This area is surrounded by lounge chairs and umbrellas, so you are never far from sun protection. In addition, my children have always enjoyed Cross Country Creek - Disney's version of a lazy river style ride through an arctic wilderness. My favorite feature of the lazy river style rides at both water parks are the inner tubes specifically designed for little ones; there are no holes in the middle for tiny bodies to slip through. If your twins are more adventurous, they may even be up for a slide down Teamboat Springs, or any other  attraction without a height requirement. If you need to dry out and have a snack, my kids' favorite place to stop is the Mini Donuts stand near the Lottawatta Lodge.

At Typhoon Lagoon, your little ones will have a splashtacular time in an area specifically designed for guests under 48 inches - Ketchakiddee Creek. At Castaway Creek, the whole family can float down a relaxing river with some fun surprises along the way. My young daughter calls this "the slow boat ride," and can take a few laps around the park before needing a break. Be sure to explore the full list of experiences without a height requirement at the park to see exactly what your twins would be eligible to ride. The signature sweet treat at this park is the Sand Pail ice cream sundae at Happy Landings Ice Cream. Grab a few "shovels," and dig in!

I hope this gives you some ideas for things to do in the Disney Water Parks. They truly are the perfect way to chill out during your vacation.

    Just keep swimming!
