Im thinking about taking my family to WDW this year. The last time I went was over 10 years ago before I had a family. Now i have a 5 year old who is a huge Cars and Toys fan and I have recently had a new baby. Where do you suggest we stay?

    Hi Brian,

With your 5 year old's love of Cars and Toy Story, there are two resorts that have theming from those movies:  All-Star Movies Resort and Art of Animation.  These are both value resorts, so the prices are more budget-friendly, but there won't be as many amenities. Our first family trip to WDW was at the All-Star Movies, and we loved it dearly.  Our sons couldn't get enough of the theming; to them the resort was an attraction in and of itself. The Art of Animation will begin opening in phases starting May 2012; the rooms will consist of family suites, so you may enjoy the extra space with a new baby (quiet room for naps).  This resort will have suites designed after the movie Cars. However, I don't know for certain when these rooms will be available.

If you'd prefer more amenities and closer proximity to the parks, there are also moderate resorts and  deluxe resorts. You are also able to book the deluxe villas from the Disney Vacation Club, so you could have the option of one-bedroom and two-bedroom villas.  It is nice to have the extra space from a deluxe resort as well as being so close to the parks to come and go for afternoon breaks.

If you'd like more information on any of the other resorts, please let me know by clicking here.  I'd be glad to talk about my recommendations!  I just can't do it all here because of space limitations.
