I’m thinking about renting a Disney stroller for my four and six-year-old. I know Florida heat can make the plastic from the stroller hot. Are there any ideas of how I can make the stroller more comfortable for my kids so they don’t burn their skin?

Hey there, Janessis. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

When my daughter was smaller I really enjoyed renting a stroller when we arrived at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. It was nice not having to unload and load things up to get on the bus before getting to the parks We got there, rented a stroller and setup once for the day! It's definitely the way to go. The strollers for rent at Walt Disney World are made of a hard plastic but because of the sunshade on top, the seat never gets too hot. If you'd like, you could always bring a beach towel with you from home and throw it in your park day bag. If the seat got too hot you could always lay down the towel so little legs don't get burned. Also, you can get free ice water at any quick service dining location. If the seat were to be unbearable you could always splash a little cold water on it and then wipe it out with your towel.

If you are planning on renting a stroller for multiple days, you can save a little bit of money by renting one for your length of stay. Keep that in mind! I hope this helps give you some ideas on how to keep your stroller cool. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
