Hi, I'm thinking of proposing in front of the cinderella castle. Any ideas to make it more special or custom? Wracking my brain.

    Hey there, Jeffrey!

Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations! Finding your one true love is the best feeling ever, and I'm so honored to help you with some ideas on popping the question at the Disneyland Resort. As my pal Genie says, "Let's make some magic!"

There probably isn't a more magical spot in the parks than Sleeping Beauty Castle! You'll often find Disney PhotoPass Photographers out in front of the castle taking photos, so you might be able to whisper a quick word to one of them to help you capture the special moment! As for making it more personal, I have a few ideas for you!

    • What about sneaking away for a few minutes to purchase Mickey Ear Hats from the Mad Hatter for both of you? You could have them embroidered with "Marry Me?" and pull them out just in time for your photo!
    • You could purchase a favorite plush (Disney nuiMOs would be perfect to hold a ring!) to give to your true love when it's time to take the photo.
    • Do you have any friends who might come to the park to help you? You could have them come into the photo behind you to hold up a "Will you marry me?" sign before you turn and reveal them!
    • There are lots of great options for personalized gifts in the parks to ask your question or remember the day. Etched glass from Cristal d'Orleans is so beautiful, or a personalized ornament or frame from Plaza Point would be really special!
Sleeping Beauty Castle isn't the only place that you could propose! You could visit Mickey's House and propose during your visit, I'm sure Mickey would be thrilled to be the first to congratulate you! My husband proposed to me on the platform of the Disneyland Railroad station on Main Street, U.S.A. looking out towards the castle, which was a beautiful (and more private) spot for a proposal.

While the proposal moment is magical, I think the best way to make it special is to celebrate all day long! This would be the perfect day to purchase Disney Genie+ service (it includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos!) so you can enjoy shorter lines and more fun! Make sure that you stop by Guest Services to ask for a complimentary celebration button and wear them proudly! You can also stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and ask for a Fairy Godmother's Apprentice to sprinkle you with pixie dust, it's one of my favorite little things to do in the park!

Will you be visiting Disney California Adventure Park? My all-time favorite special celebration is the World of Color Dessert Party. It's the perfect place to toast your engagement and enjoy the gorgeous World of Color - ONE which is all about the power of one person to make a splash in our world!

Jeffrey, I hope these ideas get you started! No one knows your true love like you, and I'm sure you'll find the perfect thing. If you have more questions or want to bounce more ideas around just send me a note and we'll get back to it!

    Keep moving forward!
