I'm thinking about ordering a bday cake for my son while in Disney. Can anyone tell me where I can find a price list or cakes I can choose from? Every child needs a bday cake ESPECIALLY when you're at Disney!

    Angie:

Before I give you a GREAT online resources for all things cake at Disney, let me give you the low-down: when you call the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253, you'll go through a recorded listing of the resorts and theme parks where can pickup/present your cake BEFORE you can talk to a live person. So my first piece of advice before walking through all the options for a Disney cake is to decide at which restaurant or from which bakery you want to pick up your cake (keep in mind that if it's presented at a restaurant, they will take on automatic gratuity...yes, just for delivering it to the table....)

Disney prides themselves on customizing your cake--and that determines the price. You not only can choose your size, cake and icing flavor but also the filling and the decorations. Prices run from $21 plus tax for a 6" fresh cake to $48 for my favorite, the Mickey Head cake that they say serves 8, but you could feed 12 easily and on up to hundreds of dollars.

There is no official price list online, however, I found a helpful online location with a plethora of pictures to boot! I can't give you the direct link here, but you can go to www.disboards.com then scroll down to the thread that says "Disney Restaurants." Once there, go to "Search Forum" on the right-hand side of the screen in the blue bar and type in "The Official Cake Thread." It will come up as one of the threads to choose and head to its second page, post #23. WHEW. You'll find an exhaustive list of prices. Best of all: you'll see pictures of Disney cakes--oodles of them--to give you a good idea of what they can do with just a simple suggestion! Wishing y'all a pixie-dusted birthday and a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
