Ahoy there, Hiroko!
So glad you joined the pirate crew here at planDisney. All I can say about choosing a
Very Merrytime cruise is, “Do it!” What better way to get in the holly jolly spirit than sailing on the fabulous Disney Dream? A Very Merrytime voyage with the entire family sounds like a magical way to celebrate the holidays.
The Pirate Night will look and feel a bit different than in past years. It looks like you will be on a 4-night sailing, and those will have some pirate themed activities and a pirate menu. Captain Mickey is also introducing new entertainment like a fireworks show called “Disney Ever After” and foregoing the deck parties for now. The
Experience Updates page is super helpful in filling you in on what will be offered onboard and ashore during your cruise, particularly the “On the Ship” page.
Speaking of hot off the press information, there’s a
video featured on the Disney Parks Blog about what new magic is happening onboard. One interesting tidbit was that there will be a swashbuckling pirate takeover at dinner on voyages lasting 4 nights or longer. That would be the evening I would suggest dressing up in pirate costumes if you choose. You will find the full schedule of events on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
As for the Very Merrytime itineraries, the theming is mainly the decor and events scheduled and not really about any type of dress code or Christmas attire required. If you and your travel party want to dress up for the holidays, by all means, feel free to do that. But it’s not one of the themed nights during your voyage.
Ok so now that you have more details about this holiday cruise and the pirate themed activities, I hope this has made you decide to hoist the mainsail for booking rather than walk the plank! The x marks the spot on the planDisney map if you have more questions-that’s what we’re here for!
SEA ya real soon!
