I'm thinking of getting the dining plan next time. One of the cons is that every meal includes a desert. As much as I would love it, we can't eat that many deserts. Are there any alternatives?

Hi, Cathy! You are being so good! I'm with you...I would love a dessert after every meal. However, I would not be very happy with myself once I got back home. In fact, once on vacation in WDW, my husband surprised me by adding the DDP to our reservation when I was on a diet!  Can you say "sabotaged?"

Of course, at buffet restaurants, your question is just a matter of self control, and at table-service restaurants, the servers are happy to keep temptations to a minimum by offering a variety of options for dessert. I've enjoyed sherbet, yogurt or fresh fruit for dessert at Disney's signature restaurants. The only time you have to get a little creative is at quick-service restaurants. When I was opting to skip desserts at WDW, I asked for alternatives, and they happily offered fresh apple slices, carrot sticks or grapes. I'm sure that you'll experience similar options.

Wishing you a magical and healthy vacation!
