Hi there, Todd! It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Pennsylvanian here at planDisney!
I'm happy to answer this question for you as I have the exact same situation when I visit
Walt Disney World Resort with my family. Between family vacations, visits with friends, and planDisney reunion trips, I usually travel to Walt Disney World Resort multiple times a year, so I am an
Annual Passholder. My husband's and kids' schedules aren't quite as flexible as mine, so they do not always travel with me. Therefore, I only purchase a Disney Incredi-Pass for myself rather than for my whole family.
Although I'm the only Walt Disney World Annual Passholder in my family, it's not a problem at all when my husband and kids want to join me on a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Rather than booking a vacation package including a resort hotel stay and tickets for all members of the party, I book a room-only
Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation. I then purchase
theme park tickets for my husband and kids separately from my resort hotel booking. It's no problem at all to have Guests with different ticket types on the same resort hotel reservation.
One thing to keep in mind for your next family trip is that as an Annual Passholder, you will need to make your
theme park reservations separately from the members of your party who are not passholders. You'll book your theme park reservations as an Annual Passholder with a resort hotel reservation, and you'll book the rest of your family under resort hotel Guests. Before booking your theme park reservations, you can check the
reservations availability calendar for both Annual Passholders and regular theme park ticket holders to be sure that park plans will match up for all the members of your travel party.
Once you purchase your Disney Incredi-Pass, be sure to take a look at the
Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page on the Walt Disney World Resort website. There are often some great discounts on Disney Resorts Collection hotel stays for Annual Passholders. As long as at least one person on your resort hotel reservation is an Annual Passholder, you're welcome to take advantage of these deals. As an Annual Passholder, you're also eligible for
discounts on select dining, merchandise, events, and recreation experiences. I think you'll agree that becoming an Annual Passholder is a great value.
Todd, I hope that you'll enjoy a year filled with magic when you purchase your Disney Incredi-Pass. If we can help you with any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. See ya real soon!
Samantha
