Hi Lisa,
I treated my husband and I to the Grand Romantic Couple's Massage at the
Grand Floridian Spa for our Anniversary last year. The cost was $275 total for 50 minutes. We also paid a tip to each therapist.
You do not shower or get ready together. You're both led into separate locker rooms. There you'll change into a robe and slippers (you store your clothes in there). You'll wait in your room and he'll wait in his. I didn't really care for this, as the whole point was to spend some time together. I'd have been happy to hang out in the lobby just to have a few minutes to chat without the kids. ;) There was tea and fruit available in the locker rooms. They recommend that you shower before hand so that you aren't immediately washing off all of the essential oils that are part of the treatment.
Your massage will take place in a relaxing room which has 2 tables in it, although they are not right next to each other. You can specifically request whether you'd like a male or female therapist for each of you if you'd like. The time in the room was great with relaxing music, fragrant oils and a fantastic massage. However the atmosphere is such that we didn't say a word to each other during the process because the therapist is talking to you instead. Afterwards, we were led back to the locker rooms to change. It's an experience that I'm glad to say we did once. However I don't know that we'd do it again personally. Like you, I had envisioned more together time. I will say that I am now sold on massages! It was my first and I sure don't intend on it being my last.
You will have full access to all of the Spa & Health Club amenities for the entire day. You can come before your massage or stay afterwards to enjoy everything.
