Ahoy Carol!
Well now, we’re so happy you came to planDisney today! I can tell you are a planner because you are on the ball about booking a 2023 voyage with Captain Mickey. I totally get why you are already dreaming about
Alaska and sailing on the
Disney Wonder. Certainly it was our family’s favorite cruise to date, but I’m always open to trying new destinations to compare to our Alaskan adventures!
Currently, 2023 itineraries have not yet been released by Disney Cruise Line. The Fall 2022 voyages were just announced, and they will begin booking starting on June 21st. That gives us all the scheduled cruises through the end of December 2022. In all likelihood, you can expect to SEA early 2023 sailings to be announced sometime this fall. But that may only provide itineraries through the end of May 2023, and that may not include the Summer 2023
Alaskan itineraries. So my best advice for you is starting this fall, keep checking
Disney Cruise Line and also the
Disney Parks Blog for updated information.
Having sailed to Alaska in the month of May, I can say that is an exceptional time of year to go. Some would say that it might be cooler than if you waited until later in the summer. But we had quite the opposite results and had many warm days...just lucky I guess! On our day in Skagway, the temperature reached a whopping 82 degrees!
Since weather is a key factor in Alaska, it’s important to follow the suggested
packing list to ensure smooth sailing. I found this list super helpful so I wouldn’t forget key items that I’m normally not accustomed to packing when cruising to the Bahamas or the Caribbean, like jackets, gloves, and binoculars.
As you continue planning, please cruise back by if you have any additional questions. Wishing you a WONDERful adventure in Alaska!
Bon Voyage!
