I'm taking my young granddaughters (almost 2 and 4) for their first trip Sept 19-23. Do I have to have every meal reserved or is there room for spontanaity? We have the free dining plan and are staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

    Hello there Theresa!

I have been to Walt Disney World many times with and without reservations. I'd say the easiest way to eat at the parks is to definitely have a reservation. That makes planning your trip much harder since you will need to figure out which parks you will be visiting on certain days and which restaurants will have openings.

Since you are a little close to your arrival date, I would try to get a few definite reservations IF you can. If you cannot find a reservation, then, the next step would be to try to walk into the restaurants. The beauty of the reservation is not having to wait too long. Without the reservation you are at the mercy of park guests not showing up and other guests who have walked in as well.

My best advice is if you do not have a reservation, is try to arrive late to breakfast and eat a "Brunch" and early to dinner to beat the crowds. You can also try to make reservations while you are there in the morning or the day before...Thank you so much for asking the Moms Panel! I hope you have a fantastic vacation!
