I’m taking my 5 and 6 year old to Disney memorial weekend. I need help where to stay and i would be doing 2 parks at least so I’m thinking magic kingdom and animal kingdom. We will be celebrating their birthdays too and i don’t want to break the bank.

Hi Caroline and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for sending me your question!

I’m so very excited to hear that you will be celebrating your children’s birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort! My birthday is also on Memorial Day weekend, so I have some very fond memories of the parks during that time of year.

Staying at Disney’s value resorts provide some great benefits like complementary parking at the parks and Extra Magic Hours. When booking your reservations try to take advantage of any promotions for Florida Residents. My family and I have purchased Florida Resident Discover Disney tickets many times. They are a great deal!

Visiting the Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park sounds perfect! You will want to experience Pandora- The World of Avatar. It’s incredible! It’s not just the sights and sounds that I love but also the smells of the exotic plants within the Valley of Moara!

Make sure to make your FastPass+ reservations as soon as you can for Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey. Did you know Disney hotel guests can make their FastPass+ selections 60 days before their visit?

Before heading out for your day of fun, make sure you visit the front desk of your Disney hotel or guest services at any of the park entrances to ask for a complimemtary “It’s my birthday” celebration button. It will add a little magic to your adventures at the theme parks because Mickey and his Cast Member friends love to help you celebrate your special occasion!

Caroline, I hope I've given you some ideas for your upcoming trip. If you have any more questions, please feel free to send them my way!
